Bathroom leaks often start small: a toilet supply line, a worn wax ring, a failed shower valve or a tub overflow. But water can travel through the subfloor and into the ceiling below. Flood Rewind rebuilds bathrooms after mitigation, including vanities, flooring, tile, drywall, trim and paint, plus the ceiling of the room underneath when needed.

Because bathrooms combine plumbing, tile, cabinetry and moisture-prone finishes in a small space, the order of work matters. Electrical and plumbing work is done by licensed electricians and plumbers. Our project managers coordinate each trade so the subfloor, walls and fixtures are repaired correctly before tile and trim go in. Whether it's a primary bath, a hall bath or a basement bathroom, we treat it as part of the overall rebuild and keep you updated throughout.

Signs you need bathroom water damage repair

Your bathroom may need repair if:

  • The floor around the toilet or tub feels soft or has lifted
  • Vanity cabinet bases are swollen or stained
  • Tile is cracked or loose, or grout keeps failing
  • Drywall around the tub, shower or toilet was cut out during mitigation
  • The ceiling below the bathroom has stains or was opened up
  • Baseboards and door casing are swollen

Our process after mitigation

Here's our bathroom process:

  1. After mitigation: the property's mitigation company confirms the structure is dry, and we inspect the bathroom and any room below.
  2. Document finishes: we record the vanity, tile, flooring, fixtures and trim in a detailed estimate.
  3. Repair the structure: we replace damaged subfloor and handle framing, electrical and plumbing items.
  4. Rebuild finishes: moisture-appropriate drywall, then flooring or tile, vanity, trim and paint.
  5. Reset fixtures: we reset the toilet and reconnect fixtures, then do a final walk-through.

Matching tile and fixtures

Tile is often the hardest part of a bathroom to match. Colors vary between production runs, and many patterns are discontinued after a few years. If a few spare tiles were left from the original job, check the garage or basement. When there isn't a match, we review options with you, such as replacing the full floor or using a contrasting border, and we document the issue for your adjuster.

Insurance help

Bathroom claims often involve both the bathroom and the room below. We document both areas so your adjuster sees the full scope. Coverage for the leak source, such as a failed supply line, varies by policy, while the resulting damage is often covered. We list these items separately in our estimate. See insurance claim reconstruction.

They dry it, we fix it

Flood Rewind is a reconstruction company. The property's mitigation company handles the dry-out, and once they confirm the structure is dry, we take over the rebuild.

Jake could always be counted on for having the job done right, working closely with our insurance company, and being helpful, friendly and full of integrity.
